The most important goal is to continue Leominster Public Schools’ quality programming and monitoring compliance with state education requirements to ensure the highest possible education for all students.
I will take input from all stakeholders, students, teachers, parents, and administrators to help all students reach their full potential. specifically I will aim to have quarterly community meetings and will be reachable any day through email.
An important component in the success of a school is its funding level, so I will be an advocate to the city and state for appropriate school funding beyond net (minimum) school funding
I want to find ways to increase safety for students who walk to school, such as requesting the city to install speeding cameras in front of the schools.
Our schools need continued capital investments, such as repairing leaky roofs and other general maintenance, and efficiency improvements such as improved HVAC and better insulation which could help pay for themselves.
Our district is in the early stages of building a new campus to replace Fallbrook. I want to push that we build a quality building, no cut corners, good insulation good roof good HVAC, because this district will be here for decades to come and will reap the benefits of quality construction.
I will be a proponent of CTEI working with the city to turn city projects into learning opportunities. And I hope to expand the CTEI home building program by making greater use of city owned land.
Transportation is extremely important and a major part of the budget. I will advocate for cost effective ways to fund and maintain current service.
I ran track and cross country in middle school and all years of high school, I know the value of athletics being accessible and funded. And I also saw the value in a wide range of curriculars from theater to band, not everything is for everybody but there should be something for everybody.
